Appointment Information

Pricing & Booking Information

  • $100 per hour when booking 40 hours in a year.

    $110 per hour when booking 20 hours in a year.

    $120 is our full rate.

    Potential additional fees:
    $30 for travel time outside of the therapists service area (over 30 minutes one way travel time).

    $15 for parking if applicable.

  • Date, Time, & Location

    An on-sight contact, name and phone number, so the therapist can communicate directly if any issues arise. 

  • CMA will draft an invoice for you to approve.

    Timing can be fit to your budgetary cycle, or will occur after the event.


    Terms are payable upon receipt or Net 30.
    Check, Credit Card, or ACH direct bank transfer.
    Credit card via a Payable Link. Invoicing through “Talech” or over the phone.
    Mailed checks, payable to "Chair Massage Arts LLC"
    The business, or a single entity assumes the cost of massage.

  • Deeply appreciated and not expected.

    100% of gratuities are paid directly to therapists.

  • Please provide at least 72 hours notice.

    Customers who cancel with fewer than 72 hours notice may be charged 75% of their service total.

  • The more lead time the better.
    Next day bookings have been known to occur.

  • After 2-3 hours therapists get a paid break, usually as long as the session length (15-20 minutes).

    After 5 hours, therapists get an unpaid 30 minute lunch and a second paid break after 7 hours.

  • 5-30 Minutes.
    5-minutes for fast paced high energy events like races or expos.
    30-minutes for deeply relaxing and nourishing treatments.

    Therapists build switching time into each session. People can expect their massage to be 90-120 seconds shorter than their allotted time slot.

    Therapist arrival times can be staggered

  • 5' x 6' is enough for one therapist.

    Multiple therapists can overlap. For example, five therapists can easily work in a 5x20 space.

  • A therapist startswith an interview about the a person’s preferences and health goals, obtaining a brief health history.

    The therapist will inquire if there are any specific areas or conditions to avoid during the session.

    Once the client is ready, the therapist will provide instructions for getting onto the massage chair.

    The Therapist will focus on addressing the client's expressed concerns.

    The therapist will periodically check in with the client to ensure their needs and preferences are being met, making adjustments to pressure and technique as needed.

    As the session concludes the client will receive a heads-up that their time is almost over. There will be time for the client to get up, exchange feedback, and depart.

    The therapist will then sanitize the equipment in preparation for the next session.

  • Digital and printed signup sheets.

    Some groups centrally coordinate their signups while others post an open signup.

    It is useful to circulate the massage signup information in advance to improve awareness and participation.

    CMA can provide a digital signup sheet upon request.

    For larger events an attendant may be called for.

  • Their massage is forfeit, allowing others to take advantage of an opening.

  • Chair massages typically do not involve the use of oils or lotions.

    Some therapists may offer to use some lotion if called for.

    Clients can request or refuse lotion and the therapist will ask before applying any.

    Clients must communicate any allergies, or sensitivities.

Professional Massage Cleanliness and Safety

  • The therapist sanitizes the equipment and their hands between every session.
    The head rest is covered with a disposable cover and replaced between every massage.

    If masks are desired, please let us know.

  • No.
    A person is welcome to remove extra layers (i.e. coats and heavy sweaters), but a base layer of clothing will always remain on.

  • Unless asked for in advance we do not provide aroma therapy, or use scented lotions or oils.

  • Therapists may provide appropriate music if massages are separated from active working spaces.

  • If a client finds that they want more or less pressure all they have to do is ask.

  • Any request to avoid working an any area shall be honored.

  • Yes and it is very important to tell your massage therapist. Some additional precautions are called for.

  • If you are sick.
    Experiencing systemic infectious or contagious diseases, including the common cold & flu.

    If you have some cancers, some kinds of chemo.
    Unmitigated extremally low or high blood pressure,

    Bleeding disorders, are taking blood thinners, or have low blood platelet counts.

    Acute injury, infection or flare-up May contraindicate massage at least on that area.

    Tell your therapist of any health risk or concerns

  • Yes. And it is important to let your therapist know so they can avoid the area.
    We want to avoid massaging sights that have:
    · Recent surgery
    · Recent burn
    · Varicosities
    · Acute flare-up of inflammatory conditions
    · Deep vein thrombosis (DVT)
    · local contagious or irritable skin conditions.
    · etc…
